Pool Check

Pool Check^™  TDS is ideally suited for the demanding pool & spa owner who is concerned with proper pool & spa maintenance. TDS, according to the National Spa and Pool Institute (NSPI), is defined as “a measure of the total amount of dissolved matter in water, e.g. calcium, magnesium, carbonates, bicarbonates, metallic compounds, etc.” When TDS levels in your pool or spa are high, cloudy water, corrosion, and scale can occur. High TDS levels can also reduce the efficiency of chlorine and affect pH balance.

Test Procedure

Simply dip one test strip into your pool or spa for 1 full second. Remove the strip and shake once, briskly to remove excess water. Wait 10 seconds for colors to develop. Compare test pads with color chart on the bottle within the next 20 seconds for best results.

Total Dissolved Solids: 0, 500, 1500, 3000, 5000 ppm
Note: NSPI suggests the following levels for TDS:
300 ppm - minimum
1000-2000 ppm - ideal
3000 ppm - maximum
